North Reading High School is seeking a full time Special Education Paraprofessional long-term substitute for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is five (5) days per week (Monday through Friday) and 35.0 hours per week. This position is currently for the full 2024-2025 school year.
Essential Duties
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior
- Support teacher with preparation of instructional materials
- Assist and support professional staff in implementing the Special Education Programs and Individualized Education Plans for students in Grades 9-12 in substantially separate classrooms and general education classrooms as appropriate
- Support student inclusion and integration opportunities as appropriate
- Assist in the implementation of curricula modifications for specified students in a substantially separate setting
- Additional duties may include supporting students in ADLs
- Provide school-based student support including classroom, lunch, and arrival/dismissal transitions
- Assume other duties/responsibilities as designated by the Principal, Educator, and/or Designee
Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve independently
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience preferred
- This may include background in education including college and/or work experience
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
