North Reading High School is seeking a full time Special Education Paraprofessional long-term substitute for the 2024-2025 school year. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.

This position is five (5) days per week (Monday through Friday) and 35.0 hours per week. This position is currently for the full 2024-2025 school year.

Essential Duties

• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior
• Support teacher with preparation of instructional materials
• Assist and support professional staff in implementing the Special Education Programs and Individualized Education Plans for students in Grades 9-12 in substantially separate classrooms and general education classrooms as appropriate
• Support student inclusion and integration opportunities as appropriate
• Assist in the implementation of curricula modifications for specified students in a substantially separate setting
• Additional duties may include supporting students in ADLs
• Provide school-based student support including classroom, lunch, and arrival/dismissal transitions
• Assume other duties/responsibilities as designated by the Principal, Educator, and/or Designee

Requirements

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve independently
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• At least two (2) years of relevant experience preferred
• This may include background in education including college and/or work experience 
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
